The Rev. Gerald Sevick accepted the call to become the fifth rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, The Woodlands, TX in January 2008.

Father Sevick was born in Bryan, TX on June 24, 1954. His education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion, Baylor University, 1978; Master of Divinity, Seabury-Western Theological Seminary, Evanston, IL, 1987; Graduate work in Administration and Planning, University of Texas, Arlington, TX; Graduate School of Social Work, Arlington, TX 1980-1982; and earned his Doctorate of Ministry from the Seminary of the South, Sewanee, TN. Father Sevick was ordained to the priesthood in 1988 in the Diocese of Dallas.

Father Sevick comes to Trinity from a ministry of 18 years at Saint Anne Episcopal Church, DeSoto, TX, Diocese of Dallas.

Father Gerry became a professed member of the Third Order of the society of Saint Francis in 1989.

He attended Church Development Institute, Sewanee (2005, 2006); Mentor Training, Perkins School of Theology, SMU (2005); Fresh Start Leader Training (2004) etc. He also served on staff for the Church Development Institute, Sewanee, and as staff and chaplain for Epiphany Institute in North Carolina.

He now serves on the Board of Saint Luke’s Hospital, The Woodlands, Texas.

In addition, Father Sevick has published Meditation on Matthew 5:42 in Roots of Hope, Vol. II, A Season of Prayer for the Healing of Hunger and Poverty; "Embracing the Center", The Living Church, February 14, 1999, and "Sacrificial Servant", The Living Church, September 30, 2001.

Father Sevick has been married to his wife, Kay for over 25 years and have four adult children.
